Cosmetic dentistry includes all the treatments used to improve the way the teeth and gums look so patients can enjoy a more attractive, healthier-looking smile. The field of cosmetic dentistry is broad and can include an array of treatments, including:
veneers to correct the appearance of deep stains, cracks, fissures, chips, gaps between teeth, and teeth that appear crooked or too small
crowns to address larger cosmetic defects or to hide large, dark fillings
tooth-colored or “white” fillings to replace dark metal amalgam fillings
gum recontouring to address receding gums or teeth that appear too long
crown lengthening procedures for teeth that look too short
dental implants, bridges, and dentures to replace missing teeth
Prior to any cosmetic treatment, patients will be asked to describe their concerns and a full-mouth evaluation will be performed to identify the most appropriate treatment options.
Some procedures like teeth whitening offer purely cosmetic benefits, helping teeth look whiter and healthier and improving the overall appearance of the smile. But other procedure can serve a restorative role as well. For instance, dental crowns can improve the appearance of a badly damaged tooth while also strengthening it and preventing further damage.
A smile makeover includes multiple treatments and procedures to address an array of issues that affect the way the teeth and gums appear. Smile makeovers are customized for each patient and each plan is carefully devised for optimal results.
Some insurance plans will cover at least part of the cost of a procedure that restores the teeth or gums in addition to providing a cosmetic benefit; for instance, a tooth-colored filling may be partially covered to the extent that it corrects a cavity, but the extra cost of the white filling material may not be covered. Our office staff can help determine the insurance benefits that are available in addition to identifying financing plans to make the cost of care affordable.
We accept most dental insurances. Here is a short-list of some of the most popular plans we accept. Please contact our office if you do not see your insurance provider listed.
